Prehabilition: Better In, Better Out (BiBo)
Optimise burdensome surgical pathways
Major surgery is a significant stressor for patients. Patients with poor preoperative fitness, nutritional status, and mental resilience have an increased risk of postoperative complications and incomplete recovery. This worsens functional outcomes and increases healthcare costs.
Modern perioperative care pathways therefore include a preoperative assessment of individual, modifiable recovery risks. These are reduced preoperatively through so-called prehabilitation, which can include exercise, dietary improvements, and mental support.
Care IQ can assess the value of modern perioperative care for your hospital and provide expert input and training. We offer support in project planning and implementation.
