King Fahad Cardiac Centre, Riyadh

King Fahad Cardiac Centre (KFCC), part of King Saud University, is the largest dedicated cardiac facility in Riyadh, with 160 beds. During the construction of its new 6,200 m² facilities—including 14 modality rooms, 10 ICU and A&E rooms, and specialised areas for non-invasive cardiology, interventions, paediatric cardiology, and cardiac care—Care IQ, commissioned by Philips Healthcare, was engaged to provide concept design and workflow optimisation based on detailed staff needs and clinical requirements. The project also incorporated cutting-edge MedTech solutions and IT infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency, data management, and patient care.

Additionally, capacity planning (an early Digital Twin) was utilised to create virtual replicas of the physical environment and clinical workflows. This innovative approach allowed for predictive analytics, and continuous optimisation of hospital resources during the design phase, thereby improving patient outcomes and streamlining healthcare delivery. Care IQ also supported the development of a chest pain management programme aimed at international accreditation by the American Society of Chest Pain Centres.

King Fahad Cardiac Centre (KFCC), part of King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is a distinguished tertiary centre specialising in cardiovascular medicine.
